The Southwest will be our setting for the entire workshop. From our bases in Chinle, and in Sedona, Arizona, we'll discover the beauty and secrets of Canyon de Chelly, the stunning scenery of the West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon and the unparalleled beauty of Red Rock Country surrounding Sedona. We'll venture into Canyon de Chelly with our Navajo guides to see ancient petroglyphs and pictographs... and hear all about the history and culture of the area. Because of Keron's contacts and friendships with members of the Navajo Nation, we'll have special access to areas that are off limits to all other visitors. We'll enjoy sunrise shooting along the rim of the canyon, afternoon lectures and image editing skill-building exercises, and critiques of our shoots each day.

On the evening of the 28th we'll gather for an introductory slide show by all four instructors and talk about logistics to make our week as productive as possible. Tony and Sue will inspire you with their wonderful creative imagery and Keron and Rick will firm up composition and exposure skills. Each day we'll have a sunrise shoot location, then fortify ourselves with breakfast before we head out for a full day in the Canyon. On the morning of the 31st we'll drive to Sedona and stop in Oak Creek Canyon for an afternoon shoot. After getting settled in our hotel in the late afternoon, we'll have dinner together and discuss logistics for the next three days. While in Sedona, we'll have free time to make side trips to Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, and Boynton Canyon. Keron will have suggestions about other stunning locations, and we'll be back in Oak Creek Canyon several times to find the best reflections, color, and scenics.

In both Canyon de Chelly and Sedona, the classroom will be our setting for daily critiques, hands-on help with image editing, and printing favorite images on the new Epson 2880 13x19 printer! Rick will be giving special topic mini-lectures throughout the week to enhance your archiving and editing skills. Additionally, he'll take us through the Lightroom print dialogues and assist as needed to make your prints. (Limit 4 prints per student).

As with all our field workshops, we'll have a selection of Canon DSLR Bodies and lenses and Gitzo tripods with Really Right Stuff ballheads available for use to further enhance your creativity.

This will be an active and rigorous workshop. Come prepared to seize the opportunities!

Breakfast is included each day, and we will also have a mid-week AND farewell dinner together. All other meals are on your own. I will have a list of suggested restaurants....and there are easily accessible sandwiches/coffee/snacks just steps from the front door of the hotel in Sedona. Please contact with any questions or requests and timing for flights in and out of Phoenix.
